The new Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor Washington opened in September 2010. The museum provides a wonderful learning environment for adults and youth with interactives, video displays, digital photos, a resource center, and various programming activities and events.
The site includes the fully restored 1893 Midway Schoolhouse, inviting visitors and school children to experience a different time in rural Washington education.
The museum also has the 1925 Shenandoah fishing vessel - currently undergoing restoration by volunteers under the supervision of shipwright Nate Slater.
