McChord AFB Air Museum opened in 1980s. Its Mission is to preserve McChord AFB history. The collection features Air Force memorabilia, aviation art, armaments, models, and vintage uniforms. Displays include 13 aircraft representative of those flown at McChord AFB, from the 1940s B-18 and B-23 to the recently retired C-141 Starlifter.
