Established in 1832 by the Hudson’s Bay Company, Fort Nisqually was the first non-Native settlement on Puget Sound. Museum staff, dressed in period clothing of the 1850s, offer daily historical interpretation. Special events throughout the year focus on various aspects of the Fort’s history (see website for details).
